The Research unit (UMRS956) is based in the Pitié-Salpêtriere hospital, one of the largest cardiovascular centres in France. The team is internationally recognized in the fields of hereditary and complex cardiovascular diseases signalling pathways involved in cardiovascular diseases and cardiac electrophysiology.

Mr. Thorsten Göttsche holds a degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Stuttgart, Germany.
From 2000 to 2007 he was assigned to microfluidic drug delivery systems at HSG-IMIT and since 2007 responsible for the group of assembly technology at HSG-IMIT.
Since 2008 he is assistance head of R&D, since 2010 head of R&D at OSYPKA AG, Rheinfelden, Germany. Here, the primary focus is on technologies and products related to the field of catheters for electrophysiology, balloon catheters, permanent implantable leads and implants for pediatric applications.
